Hi! My name is Rachel and I'm a loving wife and a mother of three beautiful adult children. I found a lump in my right breast at 10:30 pm on Saturday April 30th. I got in to see my doctor the next Wednesday. Mammogram the very next day. Things have been rolling along quite fast. I had a mastectomy on June 7th. My chemo treatments will start the second week in July. This has been a 2 month whirlwind of stress and hemorrhaging money for doctor bills. I have always been a fairly healthy person who NEVER gets sick. So of course my deductible has not been met. I'm out of work on sick leave at the moment, still recovering from the mastectomy. My life has been turned upside down. I am a veteran of the US navy and have been employed at the USPS for 7 years.
I've always been a workaholic. I love my job as a rural carrier! ( I miss my wonderful people on my route!) Sitting home recovering is driving me insane, as I'm not used to doing nothing. The economy at the moment is not helping with my sanity. The driving 40 miles one way for appointments is eating my lunch in gasoline prices. I'm having to put aside my pride and make this fundraiser, even though it's embarrassing and I'm ashamed to have to ask for help. I'm needing help with medical bills and gas back and forth. Thank you for any little bit you can send. All prayers are also accepted ❤️
