Dental Work

**Long story short. I can't afford my dental expenses, yet also can't afford to wait until I can. 100% of all donations will go towards my dental health (not cosmetic.) Bone grafts, extractions, implants, root canals, fillings etc.

It took years of debilitating pain and tens of thousands of dollars (I didn't have) trying to handle this myself before I got here...but I'm finally trying this, in spite of the thoughts of what people are going to think about me asking for help.

 

For whatever reason, it's been my lot in life to have big dental problems. Bone grafts, extractions, implants, root canals galore.

 

When I got a treatment plan a few years ago, the total was $50,000+ to take care of everything needed....obviously I don't have that lyin around. But I was in excruciating pain. I felt (feel) trapped.

 

I researched, got good references and went to Mexico to try and stop the pain and heal for less...but it was one of the most traumatizing events I've ever experienced.

 

I was able to survive through the OCR World Championships last weekend (9/26) where I was fortunate enough to finish 2nd in the world in the 100m event, but it seems that's as far as I could go.

 

1 day after, sitting in a chair at the dentist because the medication was no longer covering the pain, I was informed that part of the work from Mexico (bone graft and 2 extractions) would have to be redone.

 

Major heart shattering. I couldn't control the tears and lost it right there in the chair.

 

This is already a novel, and if you've made it this far, thank you so much for caring that much. There are MANY more things I could say to detail the horrific road that's led me here, but the conclusion after $1600 going to just one root canal yesterday is:

 

I need help.

 

I have a really hard time asking for help. Not because of pride, but because I don't feel WORTH helping. It's something I've been aware of and working on since I was 14.
