Nicole‘s open heart surgery

Hi, my name is Jenn and this fundraiser is for my sister Nicole. Nicole was born with a double right ventricle which is a congenital heart disease. At 11 months old she had open heart surgery to patch a hole that separates the ventricles and redirect her aorta to the correct ventricle. This made for more efficient blood flow. Throughout the years, Nicole has had some restrictions but overall has had no significant heart issues. She was blessed to give birth to three beautiful children. Logan 14, Avery 12, Bennett 3. After the birth of her first son, Nicole developed ulcerative colitis. Her symptoms continued to worsen over time and well after the birth of her daughter she went under the knife again for major surgery and they removed most of her intestines. Recently, during routine check-ups with her doctors, they discovered issues with her heart that needed to be taken care of rather quickly. On February 2, 2023 Nicole is having her second open heart surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. They are repairing 3 valves. The recovery will take a few months and we are hopeful that once recovered, she will be better than ever and back to playing games with her kids.
