Update 1/28/2026
I wanted to update everyone on Michelle’s battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Her disease was too advanced for her to travel to Mexico for treatment and after getting some treatment at Karmonos Cancer Institute she has been unable to get strong enough to continue treatment. Therefore her husband and sons as well as Michelle have made the decision to treat her disease at home with her two dogs and family by her side receiving Hospice services. She was approved for medical disability but unfortunately she will not receive any funds until April 2026.
If anyone would like to bless Michelle and her family, they are continuing to accept donations to bridge the time until she receives her medical disability checks. If anyone has questions please reach out to me (Edie)
Thank you so much to all who have prayed, shared, or donated to Michelle’s fight with stage 4 lung cancer! We had planned a cruise together over 6 months ago and after being diagnosed mid October Michelle made the decision to still go and get some sunshine in her soul. We had a great 6 days together and a rough ending. We spent the last 5 days in the hospital trying to get portable approved oxygen for the plane ride home. We finally did got home right before Thanksgiving. We were both so grateful. This did not help her finances as there were many additional unexpected expenses If moved to help please share and continue prayers needed She had her first treatment the morning we returned back from Florida I will keep updating as we beat this Cancer out of her!
This is the hardest post I’ve ever written. Michelle has been my best friend, ride or die, sister, aunt to my daughter, confidant, and person for 45 years.
Over the past few weeks, Michelle has undergone extensive testing and received the heartbreaking news that she has Stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to her chest wall, lymph nodes, and hip bones. This diagnosis has been devastating for her and her family.
Michelle will begin chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments at Karmanos Cancer Institute in the coming weeks. There is also another option, a holistic treatment program at Hope4Cancer in Mexico that Michelle would like to pursue. This program offers an integrative approach focused on healing the whole body, but it is not covered by insurance and requires her to be there for a minimum of three weeks.
The financial burden of treatment, travel, and her inability to work has quickly become overwhelming for Michelle and her family. Our goal is to help her begin this alternative program by December, giving her the best possible chance at remission and recovery.
Any amount you can give will help relieve some of the stress on Michelle, Brian, Parker, Cal, and Cole during this incredibly difficult time. Please keep Michelle, her family, and her two grandsons in your prayers.
We believe in God’s healing power and the strength of community.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and generosity
