Title: The Fighting Irishman
I am writing this on behalf of my cousin's husband John O'Malley. Maybe you are a good friend or have crossed paths through Cursillo, work, coaching sports etc.
But if you have not yet met John O'Malley, let me share a little about him.
John lives his life like a true Irishman - with zeal and passion! He loves life, his faith, and his family (immediate and extended). He is always so happy when anyone drops by. The O'Malley's are so generous when opening their home for fun gatherings. John has a way of always making you feel like you matter. I was on the phone with Karen two days before the stroke and he grabbed the phone and yelled "Get down here, there are homes for sale in our neighborhood". That's how he is. He wants everyone around.
Well, now it's our turn to show John how much he matters to us. John suffered a serious Hemorrhagic
Stroke last week, and by the grace of God he survived. He is getting stronger each day but now the tough work begins. He has extensive rehab which obviously will take a toll on the family financially and emotionally. ,They have the burden of medical bills, loss of work and daily living expenses, etc.
His wife Karen is juggling their family of 5 children, running back and forth from the hospital and home. She is trying to be at Johns bedside most of the day encouraging him in his physical progress. We want John to be able to focus on nothing but getting better. Your donation can help to lighten that financial worry for them and to be able to get John home and rehabbing as soon as possible, which will hopefully allow him a full recovery and get him back to work.
I chose not to write in a financial goal, but instead relying on you all to do what you feel you are able. We trust God will provide for their needs through all of us, and any amount raised will be a blessing. John's a fighter! Lets rally around this Irishman and help him get back on his feet.
