Hi! My name is Graciela Preetam. I row for the Conshohocken Rowing Centers Junior High Performance team. This summer, I have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent the Dominican Republic in a single at the Junior World Rowing Championships in Trakai, Lithuania.
Why?
Back in 2008, my father, Aaron Preetam, raced worldwide in a single, representing the Dominican Republic. At the ‘08 Olympic Qualifiers, he lost the qualifying spot by one place. Once he came home during the opening ceremony for the games, I was born! Since hearing that story, my lifelong goal has been to follow in his footsteps to not only represent the Dominican Republic all over the world but to finish out his Olympic dreams!
The cost of equipment rentals, travel, housing, food, and my entry fee is ~$10,000. I am looking to raise money to alleviate some of my club's financial burden. Please consider donating to help achieve my goal. The Conshohocken Rowing Center is a non-profit entity, and all donations are tax-deductible.
