The Mysterious Reappearing Wound

The Reappearing Mysterious Wound

I have always been brought up with the belief that you don't air your dirty laundry
in public. That thinking was over-ruled by my 14-year journey to heal the
Mysterious Reappearing Wound that I am about to talk about,(and is followed by a 11 mins illustrated video).
This wound has impacted my life, family and everyone around me.

A camping trip changed my life. On a Saturday evening in May 2001, my family and I were coming back
from a walk and I stepped on a small curved stick that hit me in the back of my right calf. It made a small puncture
wound that had no blood, no real hole, just a putty-like spot about the size of a
nickel. I cleansed the wound but found no foreign matter.

Life goes on.

A synopsis of 14 years, goes like this 10 doctors, 6 skin grafts, 1 tissue graft, lots of
poking, prodding, wound failure and a wheelbarrow of pain pills.

Life went on, until finally I found My knight is shining armor Dr. Micheal Lavor. We met in August, 2014 at his clinic.
Dr. Lavor was intrigued by the case. He came out of retirement to work with us and had some incredible insight into why this wound
(and skin grafts) have failed. His diagnosis was that the skin looked like it was granulating but it was a false granulation that was actually creating a worse wound
and using up tissue. His treatment of deep debridement and using Grafix (a smart skin).

This whole time I've been working full time up until mid May of this year. I have had 7 surgeries in the last 8 weeks,
6 have been a placing of smart skin, on the 7th Dr. Lavor decided to do a skin graft. It was 7th day of the 7th month
and when we were pulling up to the entrance the time was 7:07 am. It was a sign that good things would happen. So here I sit
with my leg elevated at all times. The graft is taking and all is looking really well. We do need help with our
medical expenses and bills that are piling up. We have started a gofundme.com account to ask for any assistance you can
bestow upon me and my family.
