In October of 2016, my husband, Mike, had a major stroke and heart attack. We had no prior notice of any health issues and were completely unprepared.
After more than a week in the hospital and nearly two weeks of inpatient rehabilitation, Mike continued with outpatient therapy and a lot of hard work at home.
He continues to improve, but his heart is only working at about 35% and he tires easily. One of the most difficult things for Mike has been losing the ability to drive, and not being able to work long hours to provide for his family.
A few months after Mike's stroke and heart attack, I was shopping with a friend when a stool fell from a shelf hitting me in the forehead and leaving me with a concussion. I struggled with episodes of dizziness for weeks and memory issues for several months.
These two events have left us struggling financially due to medical bills and time away from work. Any gifts we receive will help us tremendously and be greatly appreciated by both Mike and I.
