mine is just a bit worst than others…
Dear all,
My name is Johns, a free lance photographer from Taiwan. Throughout my life, I have dedicated myself to travel photography. I published a book, shared a lot of articles on travel photography, and volunteered shooting on the street event of ‘Share People's Love in Seattle ’ in 2012. I have won IPA awards in USA, PX3 awards in France, and my works were also selected as National Geographic daily dozen.

I always try my best to improve myself in every single way. However, on September 12th of 2016, my camera was stolen at LAX airport and I never got it back. Besides losing the valuable equipment, more unfortunately, it carries the Iceland memories of my wife and me and all the effort of shooting during daytime, sunrise, sunset and even dark nights. Every precious moment, lost forever.
My wife and me worked our butts off and saved every single penny in order to realize our dream trip. However, someone ruined our journey by one single action. After this incident, I felt heart broken; the first few nights were the worst, I lay wide awake every night thinking about my camera and the photos, the memories it carries.
A photographer’s worst nightmare is losing his work. Every photo is unique. Even losing one photo is extremely painful, and I wish no one has to suffer the same pain as I did. Lost camera and memories are like lost children. After so much effort, there is no chance to see the photos make an influence in the world, no chance to see them inspire people. The photos along with my invaluable memories are gone, forever.
Asking for help is the most difficult part, but I know I have to pull myself together as soon as possible and continue my mission in the world—shooting great photos. For more than 10 years, I have been contributing to the world by sharing what I see. This time, I need your support to keep on achieving great work. If you understand how I feel, it’s your turn to lend a hand!
The funding is for the stolen equipment and for the rest of my journey. Any amount is appreciated, your help in any way will encourage me significantly. I will continue my journey, along with your kind help, your encouragement, with renewed strength, and shoot for more people, more hope, and more dreams.
In turn, I will contribute to the world by revealing the wonder of nature through my eyes. I will encourage more people to step out of their comfort zones. I will continue to guide people step by step to travel on their own, and most importantly, I will show people that nothing, not even this devastating event, can defeat my passion of photography.
