Donation protected
We are starting this page for a boy from our community that was recently attacked by a dog. Here is the story Brayden's mom shared with us:
"On January 2, 2016, our 2-year-old son Brayden was attacked by a dog while playing with his sisters at our local high school. We received care from our local hospital before being air-lifted to Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver, Colorado.
Brayden has a fracture to the back of his skull, behind his ear. He also has a puncture wound close to his ear. He was in surgery for over four hours, the plastic surgeon said there are three layers of hundreds of stitches.
The owner of the dog has left town but will be charged with several citations. This is the second offense for this dog who is presently being held at our local vet clinic until after the court hearing. He attacked a child three months prior.
We do have private insurance. However we are required to pay twenty percent of the total bill. The total for the flight alone is $150,000 with thousands more for the hospital bills.
We live in a very small community where it is not uncommon for kids to play outside or go to the local school to play. Any donations towards Brayden’s medical care would be greatly appreciated."
