Help for Mike Black and Family

Donation protected
As many of you know, Mike Black was injured at his home on Saturday, November 29, 2014.  Mike was hanging insulation in his garage when he slipped off scaffolding and fell approximately 8ft.  Mike sustained several injuries.  He was hospitalized from November 29-Dec. 13th.

Mike is suffering from an acetabular fracture, which involved having surgery to repair the hip and pelvis.  During the surgery on Dec. 3rd  that Dr. Day was performing, they also found that he had a hernia and injury to the bowel, so Dr. Bown repaired that.  The suppose to be 6 hour surgery turned into 12 hours.  Mike also crushed his hand/wrist during the fall and had surgery on Dec. 5th and Feb. 6th.  Mike still has no feeling in the palm of his hand and 3 fingers.  Dr. Novotny is unsure that he will regain use of his hand.

At this time, Mike is still not allowed to bear any weight on his lower right side.   He is scheduled for a follow-up on March 10th with Dr. Day in hopes that he can maybe begin toe weightbearing at that time, and learn to walk again.  Dr. Day is saying that Mike will be out of work for at least one year, if he will ever be able to return depending on his mobility and his hand.  Mike is currently using a wheelchair and  walker with a platform that stabilizes his right arm.

Physically, emotionally and financially Mike, Kelly and the kids are struggling.  This is going to be a long hard process, and they still have a way to go.  The only income coming in the home is with Kelly working, but she is not able to return to a full-time status due to Mike's appointments.

Mike is a man full of pride and may be upset that I am  asking for help, but he would do the same for others.  He is such a kind hearted, caring and giving person and would do his best to help anyone with anything if he were able.

I'm asking as friends, family and community that we pull together to help Mike, Kelly and the 4 little children in their time of need.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
