The family of Michael (Mike) Toschi is reaching out in support of the recent tragedy in which he lost his home and the entirety of his belongings within it. Michael was a resident at the American House assisted living facility in Southgate, Michigan, which unfortunately was destroyed in an immense fire on October 24, 2025. The flames were rekindled over the weekend, leaving little to no likelihood of salvaging belongings from the property.

Mike was one of 87 residents and staff on the premises during the fire, all of whom were successfully evacuated thanks to the courage and assistance of local emergency support services.

Mike is a quadriplegic individual with medical needs and accommodations that exceed the typical necessities of able-bodied people. The cost of replenishing all of the goods and resources needed for him to sustain a healthy, comfortable life will be excessive. He lost everything in the fire. Mike lives his life in the spirit of community and generosity, which is what we are now graciously asking for in response to this unfair hardship.

Thank you,

Family and Friends of Mike Toschi
