Departing: Sunday, March 12, 2023

My name is Jocelyn Arianna Gutierrez; I am 13 years of age. I am a Mexican American native-born in the city of Long Beach. I am a daughter of an illegal immigrant from Guadalajara, Mexico, who got deported seven years ago, leaving my mother to raise my brother and I as single parent. We went from having our own family business of a mechanic shop to losing everything in a blink of an eye. We lost our business and our house and left us couch surfing. This motivated me to attempt to be the best student, daughter, and sister. Despite all the trauma I have endured, it has given me the want to be better and strive for my success. I am a straight “A” student and I currently hold a 4.0 GPA. Next school year 2022-2023, I will be an 8th grader at San Ysidro Middle School. I am trying to raise money for my 8th grade field trip to New York, NY and Washington, DC for six days we will visit the IWO JIMA Memorial, Mount Vernon, the White House, and the Capitol Hill Grounds Tour, The Time Square, Wall Street and the Financial District, National 9/11 Memorial, Statue of Liberty, Central Park and the Uptown Motorcoach Tour and last but not least the Grant’s Tomb, I truly believe that those six days would be an academic and sightseeing adventure that will help me achieve my dreams and goals. My dream is to be a pediatrician. However, I would also like to help those in need, children who do not have families.
The amount of the trip is $2849. It includes
• Opportunity to earn free school credit
• All Meals
• Round Trip Transportation

Thank You once again for any contribution you may help me with to reach the amount needed to be able to participate in this educational experience.
Sincerely,
Jocelyn Arianna Gutierrez
