Alex's Top Surgery Fund

Hi!

I was finally able to make the decision to start transitioning 18 months ago and I am very happy to report that I have never felt happier and that I am doing well. My only regret is not having the courage to start sooner but it is better late than never!

I am getting to the stage of feeling incredibly uncomfortable because of my chest. Working in very high temperatures constantly and due to having fairly large chest muscles because of my physical training, it is becoming impossible to bind my chest adequately and I am really struggling mentally and physically without top surgery. Luckily, I have found an excellent surgeon in Barcelona who is able to do the surgery in the next few months and having this done will improve my comfort levels and confidence infinitely.

A few years ago and when I was in a better financial position, I was fortunate enough to be able to contribute substantial sums to help others in this position. I hate having to ask for help but with my current financial situation, I am looking for some help towards my surgery because funds are very tight at the moment and this really needs to take priority for me as it is making my day to day a struggle.

The cost of my surgery is approximately €6200, assuming everything goes well. I will also need to stay in Barcelona post-surgery and for post-operative checkups. I will need to take at least a month off from work, possibly more. I am hoping that I will just bounce back but I am trying to be realistic. All in all, am expecting that €10000 would be sufficient for my surgery and recovery.

If you have anything to spare at all, I would really appreciate a donation towards my surgery at this time. It would make a world of difference to me and I would be forever grateful. I am working non-stop to try to generate as much as possible for the surgery and recovery and any contribution would be very much appreciated!

I am aiming to have the surgery in September or October this year.

I will keep everyone updated on my progress and how funds have been spent. If my financial situation changes or if my spend is less than generated then I will pay it forward to others who need help.
