Steven's fight

UPDATE: Steven has been fighting this battle for so long, and sadly lost his fight on the 26th of February 2023. All of Steven’s family would still be very grateful for any help you can provide to help pay the immense hospital bills, and give Steven’s family some relief during this difficult time.

My name is Laylyn Wright. I am the youngest of four brothers, three of whom live in Melbourne. Our oldest brother, Steven, decided to stay behind in India to support and care for our ageing parents.

Steven was diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia in 2021 at 62 years old, a rare condition in which your body stops producing new blood cells. For the last two years, Steven has been battling this condition bravely. This year he took a turn for the worse, and his condition developed into Leukaemia. Steven urgently required a bone marrow transplant that he was able to receive from his youngest son Sheridon. Unfortunately, the procedure has not been successful and as a result, Steven’s condition has spiralled drastically. Steven is currently in Narayana Hrydayalaya Hospital, where he has been since December 2022, too unwell to return home. He is currently in the ICU on a ventilator and other life support measures.

Steven’s medical expenses have skyrocketed. His two sons, Julian and Sheridon, have exhausted all of their finances having already spent over $130,000 USD to help their father fight this battle as best as he can. Steven’s brothers and their families have also shared their finances to help as much as they could. The expenses continue to add up every day, and Steven’s sons and extended family are now struggling to find the funds to pay for treatment, with the last procedure costing $75,000 USD. The family is asking for any help at all that you can provide to help ease the burden on Steven’s wife Jacinta and his two boys Julian and Sheridon, to allow him to continue his life-saving treatment and allow his family to stay by his side and support him during this difficult time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and every little bit would help their family immensely and give Steven the chance to keep fighting.
