Hello, my name is André Wright and I’m trying to Raise €30,000 EURO to directly support people in Jamaica (including family members) affected by Hurricane Melissa.
Who I am:
My name is André Wright. I am a singer, performer, and community advocate currently based in Vienna, Austria, originally from Canada.
Where I’m from / My connection to Jamaica:
Although I live in Europe now, I have deep personal connections to Jamaica — including close friends, extended family, and long-standing community ties. Jamaica is a place that has shaped my life and spirit, and I remain closely connected to the people there.
Why I’m raising funds:
Hurricane Melissa has caused catastrophic damage in Jamaica, leaving many without shelter, access to clean water, food, and basic necessities. I am personally committed to supporting affected communities directly and responsibly.
My relationship to those receiving support:
I am raising funds to support individuals and families in Jamaica who have been directly impacted. These include community members I know personally as well as families identified through trusted local contacts and on-the-ground assistance networks.
How the funds will be used:
Every dollar raised will go toward essential recovery needs, including:
• Emergency food and clean drinking water
• Temporary shelter materials or accommodation support
• Hygiene and medical supplies
• Home-repair support, including materials for roof and structure repairs
• Local transportation and distribution costs (kept minimal and transparent)
I will provide regular public updates, including breakdowns of spending and proof of delivery, so donors can see exactly how their contributions are making a difference.
This fundraiser is organized with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
Thank you for standing with Jamaica during this time of urgent need.
every donation counts.
Sincerely, André Wright
