Hi, my name is Liam and I have been going through cancer treatment. I recently spent 4 months in the hospital which was really hard. I'm raising money for kids and parents who don't have the ability to buy outside food while inpatient on the cancer floor. I was lucky because my parents were able to get me food that I wanted to eat when I was actually hungry and what I wanted in the moment, but I could not imagine not eating what I was craving while I was going through chemo because I was really nauseous and my taste buds kept changing. I didn't like or want any food from the hospital. The hospital food was not good and I really appreciated getting what I asked for, like pasta bolognese from an Italian restaurant or a strawberry milk shake from the diner down the street. Sometimes I wanted Shake Shack and my parents would let me have a burger with French fries and cheese sauce which made me feel good. Because I was eating throughout the day, I did not lose too much weight and it made me happy to have the food I wanted to eat. It would be really nice to help kids on the cancer floor to have a better experience. Cancer is really hard when you are in the hospital and chemo makes you feel really sick.
