My name is Kristy Perry and my dear friend, Jamie Demers, has found herself in a fight against cancer. Jamie was diagnosed with kidney failure and further testing resulted in a diagnosis of a rare form of multiple myeloma in January 2023. Since her diagnosis she has been receiving weekly chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments. While the treatments are working, her best chance for long term remission is to receive a stem cell transplant. The transplant will take place at Dana Farber Medical Center in Boston, MA where she will be hospitalized for at least 2-3 weeks. Due to a compromised immune system and side effects from treatment Jamie has been unable to work and will soon see a reduction in pay. Any funds raised will help offset the loss of income and help with travel, hotel and living expenses for her husband, Wayne, while in Boston throughout Jamie’s recovery from the stem cell transplant.
