We all took a vacation. Our mom and step dad came up from Florida for a week. What seemed like a start to a great week, quickly turned into our worst nightmare. My brother went in for a planned shoulder surgery on Tuesday. He had 2 screws put in and lots of burciteous scrapped out. He was doing well! Came home and we were all hanging out. Wednesday we all gathering for our moms potato soup. We were all excited to get her home cooked meal and one of our favorites! We were all sitting on the back porch talking and having a great time. Waynes sling was was removed so he could put his arm straight and get some blood flow. He walked in the house, came back and said "I'm not feeling good, bring that stuff in here to wrap my arm back up". He turned around and started walking into the livingroom. He collapsed and went down hard! He wasn't breathing and he was incoherent. It was about a minute (seemed like an eternity) and he started breathing again but was very confused. He was rushed to Swedish of Edmonds by ambulance. We were told his heart stopped. They did a full CT scan. The right side of his face is fractured from the fall, he has 6 stitches on his chin and 3 on his eye. They transferred him to Harborview so he could get the care he needed. He seemed to be ok, in and out of it. Still very confused about what was happening. He was in ICU for 24 hours under intense watch. They transferred him to a different part of ICU that gave him a little more freedom. Well last night his heart did some more weird things. Today he is being transferred to UW to get a pacemaker put in. All of us are so confused by this. My brother has always been so healthy! Never sick, never in the hospital! He has a clean bill of health! Now, here we all are. Our mother is staying another week, my sister n law is living at the hospital. We were all sent into a tail spin of disbelief! How can this happen? Why did this happen? We all sit silently with tears of disbelief. My brother has never asked or wanted for anything. They work hard to get the things they want. Lisa and Wayne are fighters! They are strong, kind, loving and caring individuals. Now, this is where I come in. I am asking for help for them. They don't have checks coming in, their bills won't stop because this happened. Help my brothers family keep the "lights on". I want to be able to give them not only my support, they need to know they won't have to worry about the little things that will seem so BIG in the back of their minds. Wayne and Lisa would never ask for help, infact, they never have! I'm asking, please help them! Help give a little peace of mind to the worries that lie ahead. Thank you all!
