So Brian, Ross and I decided to cycle the length of Ireland. What I had initially envisaged was a relaxed trip over 10 or so days cycling the wild Atlantic way, stopping for leisurely lunches with plenty of pints was not to be, we have set serious challenge of 720km over 4 & half days. The training has been hard but definitely not near enough. When Brian said “you're going to have to lose a few pounds”, I realised after a few months, the only way that was happening was investing in a new bike…
We start our adventure on the evening of 03rd July and hopefully finishing in Malin Head 07th July.
Any donations for Breakthrough Cancer Research would be greatly appreciated. We are covering all costs ourselves so every cent raised goes directly to this worthy cause.
Big Thank You to Gemma O'Sullivan who has taken on the even more challenging role of driver/support whilst trying to keep two kids entertained.
Breakthrough Cancer Research funds the efficient and effective development of new treatments for cancer. We work to significantly impact the number of people who can survive this disease. Research programmes funded by Breakthrough Cancer Research must focus on translating lab discoveries into new treatment opportunities. To this end we work closely with clinicians in practice all over Ireland so that our research is targeted at finding new options for poor prognosis and incurable cancers.
