Miyuki's Family Needs Help After Sunnyside Fire
Donation protected
My dear friend Miyuki lost her apartment and belongings due to 5-alarm fire at Sunnyside on 12/20/2023.
It was a sunny and lovely day, and we were planning to have a dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant in Sunnyside. However, it didn't happen due to this fire. Instead, she and her family (husband, 2 sons and 2 cats) lost their home and almost all of their belongings. Who could imagine that they would have holiday season in such an uncertain situation...?
As a result of the fire she needed to move to a hotel which was far from Sunnyside, a subway station, her sons' school, her neighbors and everything else she had. She was not allowed to be back in her apartment even for picking up her belongings before moving to the hotel.
Then she needed to move to another hotel without knowing until when she could stay there. The temporary apartment she is offered has NO furniture, and it takes an hour and half for her sons to go to their school by taking a bus, and subway. Even now, she doesn't know until when she can stay at the hotel.
Though it's so hard to keep up with all the information that changes day by day, she never stops making a step forward. She always think about her family and how to re-build her usual normal life.
All your donations will go directly to help her for the purchase of necessities such as sofa, bed, table, clothes, etc.
I really appreciate your consideration and generosity.
