Mixteca Immigrant Advocacy Campaign
Tax deductible
Friends and Family,
We are writing on behalf of our immigrant neighbors who attend English classes and participate in community programs at Mixteca Organization in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Mixteca is desperately in need of an industrial printer to assist with our immigrant-serving initiatives, and you can help!
Mixteca offers a variety of programs and services that respond to the specific needs of immigrant families and aims to build a supportive environment for the growing Mexican and Latin-American immigrant community. Our mission is to empower our immigrant neighbors by providing them access to services that enhance their quality of life and will allow them to reach sustainable social and economic development.
At Mixteca, we need a printer for:
-Adult English class handouts, worksheets, and quizzes
-Know Your Rights brochures and resource sheets for immigration and health
-Event flyers: free mammograms, legal consultations, computer classes, and more
-Curriculum development and program activities such as Parenting Skills and Anger Management sessions, Promotoras Program, Nutrition Courses, and more
-And to function overall!
We’ve been without a printer for the last few months after the grant for the one we had formerly ran out. Without a printer it’s much harder for us to provide basic helpful resources to our community in Sunset Park.
We can rent an industrial color printer from HP that comes with toner and maintenance for ~$200/month. Reaching our funding goal would allow us to rent a printer for 36 months, and to purchase the following items for our Volunteer Immigrant Advocacy Group:
-1000 Know Your Rights cards from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center
-Refreshments and children’s craft materials for upcoming events
-Art supplies for march signs and banner making
We hope you can help us reach that goal with a tax-deductible donation! Donors who contribute more than $30 will have their names included on a certificate of appreciation that will be affixed to the front of the printer.
If you would rather contribute monthly to Mixteca’s operations instead of making a one-time donation, visit our Network for Good site.
Thank you for considering partnering with us!
In solidarity,
Mixteca’s Volunteer Immigrant Advocacy Group
