In 2024, there is hope that a Mixed Double Handed Offshore event will be incorporated in the Paris Olympics. Ella and James have been fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to compete for Britain in the very first Olympic preview event for this class. Hosted at Oakcliff Sailing Centre, NY, we will be training and competing on modified Melges 24's.
The race starts on May 14th and will last approximately 24 hours. The racing will be like no other, with live video streaming and tracking allowing for unprecedented sponsorship opportunities and effortless following by spectators.
Between us, we have a wealth of inshore and offshore racing experience from events around the world. For both of us, this will be a career changing event and act as a boost into the world of competitive double-handed offshore racing in the lead up to 2024.
Unfortunately, this discipline of racing carries with it a large cost. These costs add up and are mostly up to our team to cover. We are seeking donations of any amount in order to make this event a success for our team and our future in the sport.
No matter how small the donation, we would be very grateful for the support and love for you all to be part of our development as a team.
Many thanks,
Ella Boxall and James Harayda
