Mitch's PKD Journey

Hi, My husband, Mitch Wyatt, has been blessed with a new kidney! We are so excited! We got the call telling us about the potential kidney around 10:30pm & waited anxiously for the follow up call to tell us if the preliminary test results showed if Mitch would be a match. They called back & it was so we headed up to Little Rock, AR from our home in Bastrop, LA to receive the transplant. I can tell you I've never felt so excited & anxious at the same time! We got to the hospital & they took blood from Mitch to run more labs on, telling us to try to rest for the next couple hours. I think we were scared to get our hopes up...we talked quietly, me laying sideways on the hospital bed next to him both of us scared to hear if everything was good with the tests. About 2 1/2 hours later a nurse came in & asked Mitch how he felt about going first, I remember us looking at each other & realizing at the same time that she was telling us that this was it, he was getting the kidney. He said sure, of course & asked when? The image of her response, "transport is on their way down now to get you" & the look of stunned amazement on Mitch's face as he told me he loved me & would be alright is frozen in my mind as I snapped this picture to send to our kids. Everything went really well with the surgery & we are up here in Little Rock so that doctors can closely monitor his kidney at the least the first month. We have been here a few weeks now & could really use a little help. Our whole world has changed & we are so very thankful but the rest of the world is still moving forward. I'm up here with Mitch & we could use help with medical, lodging, transportation & additional expenses. We are asking for help in two ways.. 1. If you are able to help financially, thank you in advance, we feel so blessed to be given this chance for a better quality of life. 2. Please share to get the word out, so many people know Mitch, far more than I know... If you know him you know that he is funny, kind, & genuinely cares about others, he is also real & honest about how hard the struggle has been over the last several years as he has had to deal with all the side effects & changes to life due to Polycystic Kidney Disease. Thank you in advance for everything & of course prayers, good vibes & positive energy are also excepted. Love to y'all, Mitch & Jessika Wyatt
