Mitchell was involved in a serious softball injury in Vernal on Saturday June 29th, he was struck in the eye by a line drive, fracturing his orbital socket. With the help and love of his softball family he was able to receive medical care which involved an ambulance trip to The University of Utah and emergency surgery to repair the eye socket and laceration. The surgery went well, the doctors are hopeful for a full recovery.
