Mitchell Smith is an Australian powerlifter in his late twenties living with Down syndrome. Seven years ago, he walked into a gym and grew a goal. Two years ago, he stepped onto the competition platform for the first time. This year he stood on the podium at the National Series and earned a Silver Medal — securing his selection to represent Australia on the international stage.

This has taken 4 years of consistent, dedicated training, two years of competitive experience, and hard work, beyond limitations, showing anything is possible. Mitch's story is one of perseverance, passion, and proving what people with Down syndrome can achieve when given the opportunity and the right support.
