Hello Everyone my name is Jasmine Henning, I am making this GoFund Me for Kelsey, Mitchell, and Ripp Henson. As most of you may know Kelsey Webster has been admitted to OU Medical in Oklahoma City!
Here is the update we have so far from her Sister N Law Katharine Henson:
Prayers for Mitchell and Kelsey and baby Ripp are requested and very appreciated.
Mitchell did say it was okay to post this and it is okay to be shared. We just need all the prayers we can get to get this little family home and healthy!
We appreciate everyone who has reached out and if we missed responding we are sorry. It’s been 90 to nothing the last few days.
Here’s a recap of everything that’s going on.
Wednesday 2/8 bub brought Kelsey into the CCMH L&D because she was having a lot of chest pain and discomfort along with nausea and vomiting. They immediately admitted her and also diagnosed her with COVID. they ran test and realized her liver enzymes were extremely high but wanted to just monitor them trying to keep baby in as long as possible.
THUR-FRIDAY her liver enzymes kept rising so they transferred her to OU children’s ICU later Friday evening.
By Saturday morning at 3:33am they did an emergency C section hoping when they took baby out her liver enzymes would come down. However they went up instead.
They have the most perfect baby boy! You couldn’t ask for anything better. Full head of black hair, weighting 5ibs 10oz and 18inches long.
Saturday they confirmed Kelsey is now going through liver failure.
Kelsey was very confused and tired but i have learned that’s not uncommon when she comes off of anesthesia.
Sunday came and it seemed like we were going in the right direction. She was eating a little bit and trying to get out of bed.
However, from the liver issue she is now having a lot of ammonia build up in her stomach and the fumes from it is messing with her mental state making her extremely confused.
Monday: they did a sedated brain MRI to make sure that whatever is attacking her liver isn’t trying to attack her brain. And placed a N-G tube to try and get some of the Ammonia out. She aspirated during the procedure so they had to place a breathing tube.
She came out of the procedure and had to stay in the pacu for a number of hours waiting on a adult ICU bed. She was moved to the adult ICU where they are keeping her sedated with the breathing tube. That’s the last update on Kelsey so far.
They also did a spinal tap on baby Ripp to make sure he didn’t have anything trying to attack his little body. It all came back negative. He was transferred to the nicu so they can monitor him and run some aggressive antibiotics just in case he has anything that will hurt his liver. A better safe than sorry precaution.
