Mitchell Aldrich is a 19 year old UNF student. Born and raised here in Jacksonville Florida he attended Sabal Palm Elementary, Landmark Middle and graduated from Sandalwood High School in 2016. He is on the UNF lacrosse team. He has been recognized for lacrosse play. Mitchell has played Baseball, Football, and Soccer. Mitchell ran Track. He was on the Wrestling team. He has always been involved in sports. Mitchell loves the UNF campus and is looking forward to getting back. When Mitchell is not playing sports you will find him on the beach or maybe fishing. He also enjoys surfing, four wheeling, and paintball. He enjoys hanging with friends and family. Mitchell worked at the Alhambra for several years as a serving assistant but had taken a break to get started at UNF. He was in the process of seeking new employment at Lucky’s Market and starting his sophomore year when the accident happen.
Mitchell is a spirited, fightsy, kind, loving & passionate personality. He is very proud God made him a "ginger". He looks forward to what plans God have for him.
On May 1st early evening Mitchell Aldrich was involved in a scooter accident that left him with road rash on the left side of his body and very serious head trauma. He has been in the ICU at UF Health since that evening. Mitchell is progressing but he and his family have a long tuff road in front of them. Mitchell should have his feed tube and trach procedure Monday or Tuesday. He will then be moving to Brooks rehab sometime next week as long as the progress continues. Depending on rehab needs there could be many changes that will be needed in the home as well. (Hand rails, handles, etc.)
As many of you know insurance doesn’t cover everything and in cases like this there could be thousands and thousands that will fall back on Mitchell, Mark and Karla Aldrich. Nest eggs are one thing but very few people are prepared for something like this. Both Mark and Karla Aldrich will lose time at work. That means less money to pay bills at a time when they need more money because of more bills.
We can all help a little and that will turn into a lot. God Bless.
Keeping praying for Mitchell Aldrich and the rest of the Aldrich family.
If you would like to help in anyway please feel free to contact me or Mark and Karla. Please share this campaign. As more information becomes available I will pass it along. GOD BLESS…
