Misterton United Junior Football Club

We are Jade & Lorna. Two mums from Misterton who share the same passion for fitness and football.

I (Jade) found my love for fitness when I started up my own community fitness classes and seeing how much it benefits the community in so many positive ways other than keeping people fit.

Lorna has always been interested in fitness but found her real passion in 2024 when she overcame her own health issues. Since then, she has decided to embrace life and take her fitness to a new level, looking after her own health and wellbeing, along with wanting to take on her new challenges.

We both have children who are a part of our local football club, Misterton United Juniors u10,s who they have been playing for since they were 6 years old. Since joining, we have seen how being part of the team has had a huge impact on children physically and mentally. They have created friendships, boosted their confidence massively, and have created a wonderful community group for children and parents to be a part of.

Misterton United Junior Football Club is a small club with just 2 children's teams, they also offer a mini kicks session giving children aged 3-6 the opportunity to take part in sports and we are always looking for opportunities for our club to grow in any way it can. Our club is run by volunteers who are mainly parents of children who play for the club, who use their free time organising things, coaching and generally supporting the club in any way they can.

As a club, we rely solely on donations and fundraising events to fund things such as equipment, fees, outgoings, and seasonal events that are planned throughout the year for the children.

Throughout the year, we hold stalls at our village fayres, as well as other fundraising activities to try and raise as much as we can for our club however with each year bringing more outgoings and higher costs, it can sometimes prove difficult to raise enough to cover these things.

This is what brings us to our next fundraiser, myself and Lorna are very keen walkers and have always wanted to take on some sort of challenge and achieve something in our lifes that could also help something that both us, our children and many members of our community are so passionate about.

On the 3rd of May, we are set to tackle the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, a 24-mile round route across Ingleborough, Whernside, and Pen-Y- Ghent

Please support us by sharing, donating, or simply showing your support for our volunteers, parents, and children in whatever way you can. It would be so gratefully appreciated.

Today 2/2/25 our fundraiser starts today. From now until the 3rd May, we will be training as much as we can, facing different challenges, including distance, incline, and strength work.
