Hi many of you know me, but for those who don't, my name is Savannah. Since I was 12 years old I have walked side by side with Missy, my 15 year old horse. It has never been easy, she always throws something my way and this time it is more than I can handle alone. Currently Missy is at New England Equine Medical and Surgical center with a chest cavity full of blood. It is coming from an unknown cause and all we can do is hope the clotting meds work. Vets are doing all they can to stop the bleeding but estimate bills to go up to $6,000 or $7,000. I have already paid the deposit of $2,000 for one day of treatment. If she survives, she can not be released until Monday or Tuesday, and if she doesn't, euthanasia is also expensive and a very real possibility. None of these costs include the charges for medication she needs AFTER her hospital trip.

So many of you have met her, ridden her, or have seen the pictures i love posting of her. If you don't know her let me tell you, shes sweet. She will take care of any little kid (in fact I think they're her favorite), all she wants in life is scratches and peppermints. She has so much life left to live- she is a fighterand I want to give her the best shot I can. But the cost is a very real barrier. I will update as I get updated from the vet.
