Yesterday my moms house caught on fire. She was cooking bacon in her air fryer and walked literally five feet to her laundry room to put a load of clothes in the dryer. Walked backed and the air fryer had exploded and was in flames. Before they could do anything it caught the roof on fire and by then it was time to just get everyone out of the house to safety. Thankfully everyone got out okay except for Jack my moms dog had ran and hid. It took 45 mins for the firemen to get him out. But we kept seeing them coming in and out. Never stopping. Each shift taking a cooling off period and going back in. They didn’t stop until they found him!! I wish I could have recorded them but all of our brains were just praying to please just let them find Jack and him come out breathing. That was our only prayer. Thankfully 45 mins later they found him hiding under a bed in the middle of the house. He had no burns just some serious smoke damage.
So thankful for the Thomasville fire department, the first responders and even the neighbors who helped carry someone out of the house. And to Thomasville Animal Hospital who worked through the night to make sure Jack was okay. There are no words that express our gratefulness to everyone who has helped, text, and called to just check in. The past 24 hours have felt like an eternity. But God has showed up in so many ways. And we are in tears of the outreach of our community. We have been in tears all day.
Right now until we can safely go into the house and salvage what we can for my mom and her roommates don’t have anything. If you have any clothes, bags, luggage, food, ANYTHING, please let me know.
We are in contact with Red Cross, Salvation Army, goodwill and all of the local churches for support. And all have been a blessing. And to those who have already reached out and helped in any way thank you from the bottom of my heart! We will never be able to repay you but we promise to pass it forward once we are able. Gods plans are always good and we have seen so much good just in the past 24 hours even through the devastation of losing everything. If you have anything please me contact let me know.
