Missy was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Triple Negative breast cancer, which has spread to her lymph’s. Triple negative is very aggressive and particularly difficult to treat.
Her work at Hallie Golf Club and Hoot’s Hilltop is where you have seen her bright smile, wonderful personality, "can do" spirit and warm hospitality the most in recent years. However, others know her as a true friend...someone who is ALWAYS willing to help someone who needs a hand. She always puts others and their needs before her own. She is someone with a deeply loving soul and who is a true and steadfast mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend.
Today our friend needs help. True to her nature, she did not want to seek any help or go public with her battle, but her loving family and friends know that all the people who have been blessed by her friendship and have been helped by her in some way or another over the years would want to know and return the favor. Now is that time.
She's a single mom, who has raised three amazing kids (Nick, Sam and Lydia). She is in the process of obtaining health insurance, but soon will have no income, as she will not be able to work during this fight of her life. Her chemo treatment start next week. As of today, her treatment plan will include chemo therapy twice weekly, every other week, for 20 weeks. She will also undergo radiation treatments, with surgery in the future. As you can imagine, this will be a huge financial burden on so many levels, which we hope to lighten so she can concentrate on her health.
It will be one heck of a fight, but Missy is up for it knowing that she has her family and friends supporting her in this battle to kick cancer’s butt!
Missy wants everyone to know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and she urges all of you to learn about breast cancer, early detection and the importance of annual mammograms.
Please keep Missy and her family in your prayers today and everyday!
