Dear family and friends,
I am excited to share with you an opportunity that God has given me to serve on a mission trip in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Ecuador through Worlds Race for three months this fall. This semester long mission trip is a huge step in my faith and I can not wait to serve and support families, women and children in need.
For the past two years, since graduation from High School, I have worked hard to complete all of my junior college transfer units and was accepted to UCSB as an English major. After careful consideration and thoughtful prayer, I have decided to defer my admission to UCSB this fall, but fear not, I will be attending next fall in 2020 majoring in Psychology with Brain Science!
My travels will begin August 28th and my return date is November 28th! On my mission with Worlds Race, I will be doing a variety of projects including construction at schools and orphanages, Vacation Bible Camps, and providing loving attention to babies and children who receive limited human touch. We will visit many small villages to develop relationships and demonstrate the power of God’s love through our physical and emotional support. This is not a vacation! Our team will rely on the hospitality and generosity of the community and we may find ourselves living in a tent in a farmer's field, staying in an urban shanty or enjoying the rare comfort of a warm bed. I am honored to have been chosen by God to take this step and I will work hard to make a difference.
My team consists of 15 college age students from across the country. In addition to work projects and spending time with people in the communities, we will look for opportunities to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and encourage personal reflection about the power of a commitment to God. I'm excited about the opportunity and experience that lies ahead and humbled to have the opportunity to serve, while also growing in my own faith.
As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support. I will need to raise $5,300 and I would be so thankful if you might be a part of the success of this mission through your financial support. Any gift of $20, $50, $100 or more would make a difference and you can click the link I have posted! In addition to any financial support, your prayers for me and the entire mission are most important. Prayer is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow God's lead in ministry in these countries. Without prayer, nothing will happen.
