Missionary Needing Orthodontic Care

My name is Amy Willumson and I am asking for your help to correct my smile. When I was 14 years of age I began orthodontic treatment to correct a bad overbite due to my jaw growing too far back. While my dentist had been notified about 4 impacted wisdom teeth, somewhere along the line this information was never transmitted to me and my family until the final day of my treatment. Unfortunately, wisdom teeth extraction was never pursued at that time. Five years later these wisdom teeth started coming through, but because they were impacted they started crowding my teeth together. I had the teeth extracted as soon as I realized what was happening, but the damage was already done. Try as I might I could no longer wear my retainers as night to prevent the teeth from slipping out of place.

It is now twelve years since the extraction and now I am seeing signs of uneven wear on my teeth in the front because they are so crooked. My previous orthodontist & the one I am considering for treatment have both stated that this crowding will only continue to get worse as the years go by. It is my deepest desire to stop this process, not just for looks, but for the health of my teeth.

The orthodontist I wish to seek treatment from is a Christian and because I am a missionary, he is willing to give me a discounted rate to lessen the burden of the expenses. However, it is still a lot for my small income. To begin treatment I need to have a $350 down payment & then it will be a $112 payment each month until the full cost of treatment has been paid off. 

I am asking for your assistance in helping me to reach this goal. It will only take 20 individuals committed to paying for just one month of my bills to help me accomplish this. Your support & donations will mean the world to me!
