In May 2017, just a few weeks after a mission trip to the Philippines, Jay surrendered his life to the ministry. He has felt a strong calling to the Philippines and already has two trips scheduled to go back through our church, Trinity Life Baptist Church in Garland. We are in deep prayer about what God's long-term will is for our lives and are patiently waiting for him to show us the plan he has and to take the next step in achieving his ultimate goals.
For now, Jay and I will be going back to the Philippines September 10th-September 19th and then again in February 2018 with dates to be determined. In our travel with the church, we will be helping plant churches, participating in pastoral trainings, and visiting the local prisons and orphanages. We are so excited to be doing God's work and for the opportunities he is providing!!!
Unfortunately, we are unable to do this often without financial support. We are asking for help financially to pay for travel and expenses abroad (specifically for the ministry such as building materials, purchasing necessities for those in need, etc). We also want desperately to be able to financially bless the needs of the people we come in contact with through this ministry.
The number "5k" is not an exact number, but just a starting point because it requires a number. It is above the cost for this one trip. The money raised will be used not only for the September trip, but as we continue to raise money, it will go into a separate account for all future trips God lays in front of us. The large cost we are raising money for will be for the travel expense. The tickets can range anywhere between $800-$3000 each depending on when they are booked and time of the year for travel.
