I want to travel to Uganda in October with a mission team from my church, St. Stephens in Sewickley PA. The primary purpose is to learn about church history in Uganda and to explore strategic partnership between my church and Uganda Christian University. The trip is organized by Uganda Christian University Partners, and each participant is responsible for obtaining their own funding. This journey is not just about travel—it's about building bridges, learning from others, and deepening our church's global connections.
Funds raised will cover my travel to and within Uganda, guest house lodging and meals, and any tours organized for our group. I hope this trip will have a significant impact for me, my family, and our church, not only as a spiritual pilgrimage but also in forming connections with the other church members who undertake the journey and with the people we meet in Uganda. I am eager to learn from the Ugandan Christian community and to bring back new perspectives and relationships that will enrich our congregation.
For years, I have had opportunities to meet wonderful students from Africa during their college or seminary education in the US. Now I would like to meet African Christians in circumstances where I am the one that does not know the food, local customs, or other languages. I want an experience that will give me perspective and clarity, deepen my faith, and help me grow in humility, but also to contribute meaningfully to my church's ongoing relationship with Uganda Christian University. I would greatly appreciate donations because I cannot fund this trip on my own. Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing my fundraiser—means so much to me. Thank you for helping make this journey possible.
