Back in December, I was traveling and listening to a livestream from Field of Grace when Akonda Ministries came to share their mission. Justine and her husband have dedicated their lives to equipping the Malawian people with the essential tools to break the cycle of poverty and despair. By joining together with the people of Malawi, and placing the power in the hands of the locals, they are sparking hope and paving the path for success.
On this day she shared they were working to build a medical center for mothers and their children. She shared that 75 babies die in Malawi every day due to birth-related complications and lack of medical treatment. Mothers walk for hours, hoping to reach care for themselves and their children.
Hearing this, I felt an immediate gut punch. Tears rolled down my face as I felt the Lord place a calling on my life.
For years, I believed I could never help a sick child or even visit one who was close to dying, because of the pain I carry from the day the Lord called Kingston my son home. But that day, God told me: go and share my light to those mothers and their babies. Help them, and trust in Me.
So I am stepping out in faith and going where the Lord has called me, even though I’m not sure what is in store. I am willing to serve and bring hope where it’s needed most.
The funds raised will help cover my travel and expenses so I can join this mission trip and support mothers and babies in Malawi. Thank you for your support. I pray that if you are unable to give, you will be willing to share my story along. Every prayer, share, and donation means the world to me as I take this step of faith.
