Atianah’s Mission to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Welcome!

Hi, my name is Atianah Garcia, and I am asking for your support in attending a mission to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in the first week of April.

The first mission that I have been on was with my youth group to Green Bay, Wisconsin. The mission to Green Bay made me realize I wanted to have a larger impact and incorporate missionary into my path. I realized that my faith is in a place where I need to share it and be a light to others. My Grandma Maria has been a part of this mission for the past nine years with her church, River Heights Vineyard. Going on this mission with her has been something we have talked about since I was 11, now is the time we feel I need to go. Both my grandma and the River Heights Vineyard church have a special place in my heart and played an important role in my faith journey, the first church I attended was River Heights Vineyard, so going on a mission with them feels right.

My Journey,

I have been attending church and learning God's word since I was ten and we moved in with my Nana and Bill. However, I truly became a Christian and my faith became my own when I was 14. I wasn’t born into a devout Christian home, and I wasn’t always taught how to be a Christian. When we moved to Forest Lake, God placed the right people in my life to steer me toward his path. I began going to youth group and really paying attention during service, and with time I learned more about Jesus and knew I needed him in my life. I needed the strength, hope, and mercy that only God could provide. I have a testimony and a story that I believe God wrote so that I can help others who are struggling similarly to me. This mission will allow me to help others and to bring God into other hearts like those who did for me. I am blessed to have this opportunity and cannot wait!

My passion is to help kids and youth know that there is always more to God’s story and there is always a reason he does what he does.
