Mission to help Scott "Shel" Alfassa

Dear friends and family,

As many of you may know, our dear Scott Alfassa (many of you know him as Shel or Shelomo) has recently suffered a stroke that resulted in intracerebral hemorrhage (bleeding in the brain) that nearly took his life last week. This has been an extremely difficult and trying time for Scott and his loved ones. We are reaching out to our local community and all of his friends and colleagues across the country for support.

Scott has always been an active and selfless member of the local Jacksonville and NYC community and was recently appointed as the Flotilla Commander of the Coast Guard Auxiliary of Jacksonville. He has served in numerous public service positions in support of the local community in Jacksonville and NYC over the past 30 years as an Emergency Manager, Emergency Communicator, and Emergency Responder. Since its inception, he has also been a dedicated and essential teammate of the security company he loves. He has dedicated his life to ensuring the safety and security of others and his stroke has left him with a very long road to recovery.

Scott will need extensive medical treatment, physical therapy, and rehabilitation to regain his strength and mobility over the coming months to the best of his ability. The intracerebral hemorrhages have made his recovery process longer and even more challenging and have increased the medical expenses significantly.

We are asking for your help in raising funds to cover the costs of Scott's medical expenses. Any amount, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and will help Scott on their journey to recovery.
