Hello, my name is Nikki White, and along with the other Team Mom’s, we are fundraising to send this amazing middle school team to the 2023 Vex Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas. This is an incredible and extraordinary honor, but the County and Middle School do not have the funds to send these boys to the World Championship. Only teams that have done exceedingly well in their individual state and local tournaments are invited, and the DISCO DUCKS did just that!
To make sure they can show their outstanding talents, I am asking for donations to pay for all the team’s fees and costs, including travel-air-food-lodging, associated with going to the largest robotics competition in the World (Guinness World Records). It is not easy to make it to this coveted position to compete. Please look into your hearts and wallets, no donation is too big or too small, and let's give these boys a chance to compete against teams from all over the world.
The Middle School Vex Robotics Team, "Disco Ducks,” Newburg, Maryland, is comprised of Liam Gibney (12), Elijah Merkle (13), Kai (13) and Drake Scott (11), and Marcellus White (12 - my son). This is the team's first year competing together, and their ultimate two-day-a-week, and sometimes daily/weekend practice schedule for the last 6 months has paid off. All the kids worked tirelessly in school and at home, sometimes late at night, individually and in groups, to make and bring their robot design to fruition. After displaying exceptional mastery in designing, building, programming, and driving a robot that could quickly and efficiently solve specific challenges, they have been invited to compete at the World Championship the week of April 26th through April 30th.
If we work together, we can make this happen. PLEASE SHARE this fundraiser with all of your friends, families, and co-workers, to make this donation request reach as many people as possible. The team and I thank you in advance for your remarkable generosity! We will post updates regularly.
