My name is Candace Bazemore and I am raising funds for the Mission of Hope Liberia, an International Christian Fellowship (ICF) Organization, which is a remote West African Christian mission in Bong County, Liberia. The mission includes a school that educates students from elementary to high school. The Mission of Hope Liberia's ongoing goal is to give hope to those in need and change the lives of their students through quality, faith-based education. Through the programs offered at this rural school, the students learn skills needed to break the cycle of generational poverty and positively affect their families, their communities and their future.
I have supported the mission over the years and had the pleasure of visiting the mission school for the first time in 2021. Below you'll see a photo of me and several of the mission students. I will be returning in February 2023, and am looking forward to seeing the students and hearing about all the wonderful new things they have learned over the last 2 years.
MY GOAL IS TO RAISE $10,000
There are 250 students at the school and I would like to help raise $10,000 which would cover a full school year's tuition & enrollment expenses for at least 30 students (30 x $250 = $7,500) and school supplies for at least 100 students (100 x $25 = $2,500)
I cannot stress to you all enough that the students on the mission start each school year off without anything. No school supplies, no water, no electricity, and no books. Most of the students do not have enough money to cover tuition for the year since their parents typically earn less than $1 a day. YOU CAN BE A DIFFERENCE FOR THESE AMAZING YOUNG STUDENTS.
THE STUDENTS
The students at Mission of Hope Liberia are incredibly eager to learn and love going to school at the mission. But they need help from people like you to cover the cost of tuition and essential school supplies.
Children in the area of Central Liberia come from families where their parents earn just $1 a day. By giving today, you can help more children learn to read and write so they have a chance to leave the poverty cycle.
THE ASK
I know I am asking a huge favor! But your gift will help more children learn to read and write so they have a chance to leave the cycle of poverty. Your donations go a long way, no matter how big or small.
Here's what a donation can cover:
- $25 - Can cover a school supplies kit for a student (which includes pens, pencils, notebooks, glue, crayons, etc)
- $150 - Can cover a Chromebook for a classroom/computer room
- $250 - Can cover a full year's school enrollment needs (tuition, school supplies, uniforms, etc)
- $500 - Can cover new supplies and chalkboards for a classroom
- $750 - Can bring electricity to a classroom (solar panels, rechargeable battery, and accessories)
- $1,250 - Can supply the base technology for a small classroom
- $2,500 - Can bring a small computer lab to the mission school
Again, there are 250 students at the school and I would like to help raise $10,000 which would cover a full school year's tuition & enrollment expenses for at least 30 students (30 x $250 = $7,500) and school supplies for at least 100 students (100 x $25 = $2,500)

WHY HELP?
There are nine villages in the rural countryside that make up our service area of the Mission of Hope Liberia and the students that attend our missionary school come from one of the poorest communities in the world. Their parents barely even make a dollar a day.
Through the mission's quality, faith-based educational programs, the Mission of Hope Liberia students get an opportunity to change the trajectory of their lives by learning fundamentals like reading, writing and arithmetic as well as character development and relevant vocational skills. The students gain valuable career skills which will help them improve their standard of living. This is why the work they do at the Mission of Hope Liberia is so vital and your support is so essential.
