My Hands Untied is releasing their first full length album "Mission: OBLIVION" in 2026. This group has its roots in the initial wave of metalcore, focusing on the sound of 2000’s. The band has just released their first 6 track EP of their very first album in June 2025, following in April of 2026 the band will go back in the studio to create the music for “Mission:Oblivion”.
Mission Oblivion will be a 5-track-cinematic concept album, merging metal music, cinematic approaches, animation, graphic novels and more. In collaboration with Antonie Ionita, who is a film student in Berlin, who found great inspiration in the music and themes of the band, we aim to create for each of the 5 tracks, a dedicated music video that will act as an episode of a mini-series.
The production costs we aim to raise, will cover costumes, transportation, publishing and promotional costs. The costumes that would be used by the band members while acting in the music videos would need to be hand-made to an extent. Each of the music-videos would be treated more in the direction of short-films rather than just music videos, and that’s due to the approach and execution of the whole concept of the emptiness of space.
Each episode of the mini series would be continuously documented.
The year is 2270. Humanity is on the verge of extinction following the 21st century. Now, all the states have joined forces forming “The United Nations” in order to combat the difficulties happening on Earth. A good portion of the planetary funds are being invested into space exploration, hoping to find new resources to help prolong life on Earth. The new technologies has made it possible for humans to explore other solar systems. A planet that is very similar to Earth’s composition that is also the closest, is just 4 light years away.
Back in the year 2067, Earth CORP, has developed a system that allows exploitation of other celestial bodies in order to assist the stabilization of Earth’s core and resources. One such element that could be used in powering the entire planet without using any of it’s resources is found just 4 light years away on a planet called Proxima Centaury B. This element was called Thomarium.
In order for the UN (United Nations) to get their hands on it, they’ve sent out several astronauts to Proxima Centaury B, but none returned. Ultimately, they put together an expedition formed by the best people in their respective fields to retrieve the mineral. Given how many astronauts disappeared trying to complete this mission, the operation was called “Oblivion”.
Mission commander - A brilliant pilot. He is the textbook example of what the government needs when they want to find someone to lead this mission to a planet outside the Solar System. From the outside, he seems untouchable. He likes being a pilot, he feels fulfilled internally by his career as a respected spaceship pilot across the solar system. Here in this alien environment, his aptitudes will be put to test.
The engineer - He is an emerging talent at one of the biggest construction companies on Earth. He gained worldwide recognition for creating a new building material from oceanic algae. The downside is that his patent got claimed by the company he works for, which became the largest on Earth in construction, and he only gets a small part of the revenue. He is driven to find the next energy source, which would improve the lives of everyone, and end the centuries-old monopoly of the power companies. His selection was mostly based on his idealism, as he will be working in close coordination with the scientist.
The scientist - He is one of the young, brilliant minds of the extraterrestrial research institute at Earth CORP. For all of his life, he has dreamed of finally finding another form of life, no matter how insignificant or primitive it is. He has already surveyed the majority of the surface of Mars as part of the research station there with no success. He was recommended by the head of the institute for his idealism, as he uses unconventional techniques and is willing to risk it all to make the big discovery. He is a bit dissatisfied with the cautious approach of the mission commander and the soldier.
The soldier - Selected out of a pool of candidates of tens of thousands, he is a special forces operator in the UN counter terrorism troops. He has seen a lot of action both on Earth and across the Solar System in taking out various terrorist groups and space pirates hiding in the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter. He ticks all the specific physical and mental requirements for the mission. His job is to guard the civilian crew against any foreign or alien threats. His experience tells him that the less he talks, the better it goes. His only worry is to safely get back to his ordinary life, so it is in his best interest that the mission goes smoothly.
