Hi, my name is Les, and in May 2026 I will be part of a team to cycle 530km, make a 20km climb up Mount Mulanje and kayak 30km across Lake Malawi to raise funds for Great Minds Bright Futures. This is an amazing UK-based charity supporting orphaned and vulnerable children in Malawi and Uganda by providing education, food, clothing, and healthcare. The charity focuses on personalized support, working with schools and communities in both countries, and aims to give young learners opportunities and bright futures.

Between 2004 and 2012 I organised a similar event every two years, raising funds for people in Malawi who were living with HIV. I'm delighted (and daunted) to be involved in this new version of Mission Malawi, and can't wait to return to the Warm Heart of Africa for the first time in 14 years.
