Mission LUMA 2026: Help Dogs Find Love & Freedom ❤️

Every dog we rescue comes to us with a different story.

Some are found alone on the streets. Some have been abandoned. Others come to us sick, injured, scared, or exhausted after going far too long without the care they needed.

We don't always know what happened before we found them. What we do know is that, from that moment on, they shouldn't have to face it alone.

That is why we created Mission LUMA.

Our mission is simple: help dogs in difficult situations get to safety, receive the care they need, recover, and eventually find the kind of home every dog deserves.

Sometimes a rescue only needs food, vaccines, a veterinary exam, and a safe place to rest. Other times, one dog can suddenly need bloodwork, X-rays, ultrasounds, hospitalization, medication, emergency surgery, or weeks of treatment.

And we never know when that next dog will need us. It could be tomorrow or it could be tonight.

We never want to look at a dog who needs help and think, “We could have helped them if only we had the money.”

Mission LUMA exists so we can keep saying yes.

Mission LUMA 2026 is our ongoing rescue and emergency care fund for the dogs who need us throughout the year.

Instead of creating a new fundraiser every time another dog needs help, each rescue becomes another chapter of the same mission.

You may find us because of one dog you saw on Instagram. Maybe it was a puppy found alone, a senior dog who had been abandoned, or a sick or injured dog waiting at the vet.

That dog may be what brought you here, but your help can go much further.

Donations help us care for the dogs already with us while also making sure we are better prepared for the next one.

If one dog's immediate needs are fully covered, remaining funds stay with Mission LUMA and help other dogs in our care and future rescues. That means we don't have to start from zero every single time another emergency happens.

And when a dog is hurting, sick, or in danger, time matters.

Where Your Donation Goes

Every dog's needs are different.

Donations to Mission LUMA may help pay for:

• Emergency veterinary care

• Veterinary exams and consultations

• Bloodwork and laboratory testing

• X-rays, ultrasounds, and diagnostic imaging

• Surgeries and medical procedures

• Hospitalization

• Prescription medications

• Vaccinations and preventive care

• Spay and neuter procedures

• Food and nutritional support

• Wound care and recovery supplies

• Foster care and temporary boarding

• Transportation to veterinary clinics and foster homes

• Rehabilitation and follow-up appointments

• Other direct rescue expenses needed to keep the dogs safe and healthy

Some dogs may need only basic care. Others may need thousands of dollars in treatment before they are healthy enough to move forward.

There is no single cost to rescue a dog because every case is different. What matters is being able to give each one the care they actually need.

The Next Dog Is Already Out There

One of the hardest realities of rescue is that the need doesn't stop when one dog gets better. While one is recovering, another may already be waiting somewhere.

We don't know their name yet. We don't know where we'll meet them. We don't know whether they will need a warm meal and a safe bed or emergency surgery and weeks of treatment.

But we want to be ready when they need us.

Having a rescue fund gives us the ability to act instead of losing precious time trying to raise everything from scratch after an emergency has already happened.

It can mean getting a dog to the vet immediately, paying for the test that tells us what's wrong, buying the medication they need that night, helping cover a surgery that gives them another chance, or simply giving a frightened dog a safe place to sleep.

This is why Mission LUMA is about more than helping one dog at a time.

Every donation helps us be ready to respond again. And again.
