Mission for Mandy: Join the Fight!
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Melanie Hahn and I am the part-time Children's Director at Honea Path First Baptist Church but more importantly, I am Mandy's Friend! Mandy not only attends our church, she has served for many years side-by-side with me to share the gospel to the kids and families of Honea Path! The Children's Ministry Team and HPFBC Family are on a "Mission for Mandy"! As many of you know, Mandy left her role in corporate America to dedicate her time to her family, her volunteering ministry and her church. Throughout three communities, we have been impacted by her dedication of time, talents and her willingness to never say no to anyone...Although this ministry effort has been incredible, her family has sacrificed financially greatly to give to others.
During the last couple weeks, Mandy and her family got the frightening news that she has stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasized into her liver! It has been incredibly shocking for all of us! Already she will be receiving her first chemo treatment on Wednesday, December 12th!
We would like these communities to rise up and take the financial burden off of their family. We are asking you to donate to allow us to pay off her chemo treatments, medical expenses and anything else that is causing financial stress! I know that seems like a lot, but if just 1,500 families committed to donating $100 (that's just 2 dinners out for a family)- we would meet our goal! Or if you can even give $5, $10, $25, $50, etc. Every penny will be a blessing! When you donate, please enter "0" if it asks for gratuity!
This bright angel who has touched so many lives now needs our help! Please donate so we can help ease the financial burden of she and her husband Markus so they can focus all of their emotional energy on healing! We have set up an account at the church that Markus and Mandy will have direct access to through withdrawal and/or debit card for medical treatments, travel to Houston to see her oncologist, everyday bills that may accumulate as Markus misses work and just plain life things! You have definitely made a difference!
So as you look to be charitable, make this your family's gift to others! Let's show her how much she means to us through our gifts! We are so thankful for all of your contributions! As you know her cancer is rare in these parts forcing Mandy to travel to Texas to see experts! Allyson Walker (Administrative Assistant at HPFBC) has been specifically assigned to make sure Mandy and her family get all of the funds they need. She has set up an account assigned to Markus & Mandy and they have complete access to it as well. We all love her so much and love each of you for helping them during this difficult journey! She is a warrior!
