Missing Leg

Please share, IBEW [phone redacted]098. I plan on getting back to work as soon as I can beat this infection and get back to a prosthesis. I need help to cover a mortgage payment and monthly bills.

Back in October 2016, I had a major hunting accident. I took a 30/06 rifle to the right foot. I had to go thru 13 surgeries to try and reconstruct my foot. I tried several different braces to get along with my foot and non of them worked. The surgeons wanted to do 4 more surgeries to see if they could correct my foot. I put it off to think about the process. The foot continued to get worse and more painful. It started to impact my work and life. In February 2022 I saw another surgeon that said the same thing. It would take at least 4 more surgeries to try and repair the foot. Having the surgeries they still could not guarantee that would fix my foot. The only other option was to have an amputation. After weighing the pros and cons I decided to go thru with the amputation. So in March 2022, I had the amputation done. After healing and physical therapy, I got into my first prosthetic. I ended up getting infection after infection. So in September, I got Staff infection and they had to go back in and do reconstructive surgery. After surgery, I had to have a pick line put in so I could get antibiotics for 8 days. Since then I have been dealing with more infections and open wounds. As I write this it is February 24th, 2023 I am dealing with another infection and getting ready to have another pick line put in. I have not been able to wear my prosthetic for weeks now. So if the antibiotics do not work they are going to have to go back in and clean out the infection and possibly take more bone. So this puts me out of work still for at least 4-5 months.

In the middle of all this, my mom passed away in August of this year. So I am trying to take care of myself and save her house. I had short-term disabilities but that ran out in May. I had a few very small retirement plans that I cashed out that got me thru for a couple of months. Then I had to borrow from some friends to try and stay afloat. I applied for Social Security and was denied. I am just now getting the appeals process going so that still months out if I do get approved. I am down to zero income and need to save my house. I have house payments, utilities, HOA and property taxes. Not to mention monthly common bills.

I need to catch a break. So any help that you guys can help with would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
