Hi everyone,
My name is Erica.
I gave my life to Jesus in '23 and embraced His guidance.
I have always had a heart for people—taking care of and serving them. This last 1½ year, God put it all together and made an opportunity for me to do missionary work.
In November '24, I spent five weeks in Costa Rica.
God is calling me back to continue His work of fellowship, intercession, and outreach—calling people to turn back to God.
While in Costa Rica, we are connected with a local church and now as well with my church back in the Netherlands.
We allow God to move us as we went out into the streets to share the Gospel—whether at bus stations, playgrounds, festivals, through house visits, in schools, rehab centers, or wherever we could reach people.
We touched many lives by sharing God’s love and listening to people’s stories—their struggles with homelessness, addiction, pain, bondage, and illness. Sometimes, a single meeting was enough to plant a seed. We make every effort to stay in contact, continue praying for them, and follow up to ensure they are coming in a stable place to join our weekly home group and church services.
The circumstances we encountered were intense—marked by brokenness, poverty, homelessness, and dangerous environments rife with witchcraft, curses, violence, drugs, and prostitution.
Yet, God transformed my own battles from the past for good. I could relate to so many people through various phases of my private life—but also including my experiences with the New Age movement, my work as a nurse and holistic therapist. I could share my testimony of how God saved and changed my life.
I have a deep desire for all people to know God and experience His unfailing love. There is true freedom in Jesus Christ.
We want to keep reaching out for His Glory and Kingdom, expanding also into hospitals and jails, handing out Bibles and food, and even restoring a playground in the neighbourhood.
We follow up with those we meet and offer discipleship that empowers them and to help others overcome brokenness.
Why Costa Rica?
It made an impact, coming from another continent, in areas where they don't expect me to come, and coming for them to share the Good News.
I see and feel the need and brokenness everywhere in the world, but sometimes God places a specific group of people in your heart and I found a strong spiritual family there, surrounding me, to live in community, to build each other up and to live close to the Lord every day, a lifestyle.
Be the light and be unified in the body of Christ.
I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. John 17:21-24
If you feel led to partner with me in this mission by sowing a seed to help and also to cover my ticket and accommodations as we continue to spread light and bring hope to those in need in Costa Rica, I would be incredibly grateful for your support.
Much love and blessings,
Erica
