Hello, my name is Olesia Kornienko, and I’m fundraising for the Miss Wheelchair Canada calendar 2026.
As a child, I had strange dreams. I dreamed that I could fly, dance, and even... run. Those were wonderful dreams...
The reality was different; I have cerebral palsy. I only move in a wheelchair. Waking up after another such dream, I decided that I would dance, I would be free, and help people see beauty.
I am the president and the organizer of the Miss Wheelchair Canada beauty pageant. Additionally, I was the only competitive dancer in Para Dance Sport (Wheelchair Dancing) in BC. I won 10 more medals in Europe. In Canada, alongside my former dance partners, I won several medals, including a gold medal at the 2015 Vancouver Challenge Cup. When I danced, I felt free and beautiful!
By organizing Miss Wheelchair Canada, I am fulfilling my dream of freedom and beauty.
For me, each participant is beautiful and unique. I am convinced that women in wheelchairs are beautiful and strong. I firmly believe that they can do whatever they want, and I want to show it to the world. I hope Miss Wheelchair Canada creates a domino effect of amazing possibilities and experiences that will last forever!
