My name is Boyd Handley. My wife and I are personal friends of Miss Suzy Simmons who has been helping our daughter with Special Needs as a Speech Pathologist for 20 years. We are trying to help Miss Suzy get back on her feet after some hard times. Please read our story below on the needs of Miss Suzy.
Ms. Melinda ("Suzy") Simmons, a well-known and much-beloved Speech Pathologist in the Houston area, has been helping children with language and learning disorders through Speech Therapy for over 35 years. She has fallen on hard times and needs help from those whose lives she has touched over the years. She is currently hospitalized and is unable to work at the moment. She relies on her income as a private Speech Pathologist to pay her bills and, at this time, she is accruing hospital bills in addition to her other living expenses. Applications have been submitted to attempt to get SSI and Medicaid to help with her medical bills and any future treatment that may be necessary. Our goal is to raise $10,000 as a temporary solution to help cover 3 months of rent and utilities along with purchasing a scooter and car lift for her to assist with mobility issues. She desperately wants to return to work, seeing and helping the children that she loves so dearly. A scooter will allow her to do that with greater ease. Any help you can give to "Miss Suzy" will be greatly appreciated by her and by the families who want to see her back at work soon. She is a truly great lady with a wonderful heart and it is not easy for her to ask for help so we are reaching out to you on her behalf.
