Possibly the most embarrassing thing I've ever done, but sure any pet parent can relate to the crazy costs of vet bills - we'd always pay it, no matter the cost!

Little Miss Raya has just spent the last week in ICU after a major stomach operation - if you know Raya, you know she loves to eat things she shouldn't and unfortunately this one was a bit of a doozy.

For any other dog, a blockage would be quite simple in what needed to be done; but Raya doesn't do things by halves! After a few days of back and forth (and a lot of vomiting), Raya went in for a blockage removal at her (amazing) vets, but they quickly informed us this was a much bigger issue than originally anticipated - she had amassed a sphere of adhesions/scar tissue inside her gut, with the vets not being able to work out what was her intestine/what was scar tissue.

We then had to rush her to an (amazing) specialist veterinary hospital in Marlow, and she has spent almost a week in emergency care - luckily, she is on the mend, but they had to remove part of her stomach and staple her back together the poor girl.

After her last surgery over three years ago, they told us she wouldn't survive another, so we're very grateful our strong girl pulled through - and to the amazing care she's received!

Due to the major/urgent nature of how everything's panned out (as any pet parent knows, it's 0-100!), we've been left with a massive vet bill of over £13k. Luckily, her insurance policy covers the bulk, but there's still a few grand outside of that - including her original treatment/surgery and everything from her time in ICU.

I'd never ever do anything like this if I could avoid, but truly any little you can part with will be a major help in getting Raya's treatment sorted and get her back to good health in no time. If you know her, she's the absolute sweetest dog, full of love and life, and we're so glad she's ok!!
